Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Alice Fern Bennett Day, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 1995 at the age of 88.
Fern was born February 19, 1907 in Deseret, Utah to Alice Kinder Bennett and Thomas William Bennett. She spent her early childhood in Deseret with her 10 brothers and sisters.
She married Verion Starley Day on July 15, 1924. He died March 30, 1984. They were the parents of eight children. Fern held many positions in the LDS Church.
She loved her family and enjoyed serving them. She loved doing handicrafts. She made beautiful quilts and was a great cook. She will always be remembered for her wonderful smile.
Fern is survived by sons, Tom (Janet) Day of Stockton; Rex (Corrinne) Day of Tooele; and daughters, Bonnie (Buddy) Smith, Alice (Varnell) Herzog, all of Tooele; and Kaye (Joe) Naylor of West Valley City; brother, Clemont Bennett and Max Bennett of Delta; and O.Z. (Zug) of St. George, Utah. She has many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 18, 1995, at 11 a.m., in the Tooele Stake Center, 253 South 200 East, Tooele, Utah. A viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, September 15, at Tate Mortuary, and one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Interment will be in Tooele City Cemetery.
