T/5 Wilfred Willis was a member of C Company, 192nd Tank Battalion. His rank was equal to that of a sergeant. He fought in the Philippine Islands from December 1941 until April 9, 1942, when Bataan was surrendered to the Japanese. He took part in the Bataan Death March and was held as a Prisoner of War at Camp O'Donnell. The camp was a death trap with as many as fifty POWs dying each day. Since no medical supplies were given to the prisoners, and they were under fed. Wilfred Willis, like many other POWs, died from disease after arriving in the camp.
