Douglas Arnold Pfister, 82, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away at Golden Living Center – Dorchester, on November 7, 2012. He was born June 26, 1930, in the Town of Gardner to Phillip and Viney (Splingaire) Pfister. Douglas served in the U. S. Army from 1952-54.
During his life, he farmed, worked at Algoma Plywood, and was employed by the Door County Highway Department. Doug enjoyed bird watching and nature.
Survivors include his sister, Carol (Doug) Kostichka-Bretl, Crivitz; sister-in-law, Nancy Pfister, Sturgeon Bay; 3 nephews, Randy (Elizabeth) Kostichka, Green Bay; Roger (Cheryl) Pfister, Sturgeon Bay; and Melvin (Margaret) Pfister, Egg Harbor; 2 nieces, Mary Lou Pfister and Linda (Randy) Schultz, all of Sturgeon Bay.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Marvin & Melvin and a brother-in-law, Vernon Kostichka.
Friends may call on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, from 4-7:00 p.m. at the Forbes Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay. A prayer service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Sunday. Visitation will continue on Monday morning at Corpus Christi Church in Sturgeon Bay from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Carl Schmitt officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
