| Birth: | unknown | | Death: | Sep. 15, 1862 |  Civil War Confederate Army Officer. Served as a Colonel and aide-de-camp to General Howell Cobb, his brother-in-law and close friend. He was mortally wounded on September 14, 1862 by men of the Army of the Potomac's 1st New Jersey Brigade while vainly trying to rally Cobb's Brigade at Crampton's Gap, Maryland. After temporary burial in Charles Town, Virginia, he was later reinterred at Rose Hill.
