GEORGE J. LYNCH
ECKERTY --George J. Lynch, son of Jeremiah and Mary E. Lynch, was born June 9, 1853, and died at his home near Eckerty, June 21, 1934, age 81 years 1 month and 12 days.
He married Polly Ann Newton, October 23, 1873. To this union three children was born. Alve Thomas, of near Eckerty; Alice Stewart, of Florida, and Margaret R., who died at the age of Eight. He companion died March 11, 1882.
On February 4, 1883, he married Ella Lea. To this union two sons was born, Lee, of near Eckerty, and Bruce, of Louisville.
Early in life he united with the Christian Church. Later he affiliated with the United Brethren Church, of which he was a true and fateful member until death. He was a charter member of the Eckerty Holliness Association.
Always an industrious and energetic man. Earley in his life he toke up the trade carpenter. Later he ran a sawmill for some years. The later years of his life were spent on a farm. On December 20, 1900, he moved to his parents residence near Eckerty.
He leaves his age companion, four children, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral service were conducted by the Rev. W. H. Lutes, Sunday afternoon. Burial was in the Eckerty cemetery.
