The son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Perrett, Dudley married Lillie May Scroggins on 15 Nov 1917 in Venice, Illinois. He served in World War I during the early years of their marriage. They were the parents of 2 children.

Dudley was a foreman for the Illinois Terminal Railroad. He worked for the railroad for 53 years and retired in 1959.

The Perretts lived in Wood River, Illinois for 9 years. They then moved to Hartford, Illinois. They had lived there for 22 years at the time of Dudley's death in 1968.

Dudley suffered from poor health for several years. He was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital where he died 15 hours after his arrival. He was 75 years, 10 months and 18 days old.

He was survived by his wife, Lillie; 2 sons, Robert Perrett of Hartford, Illinois, and Dudley "Walton" Perrett of Clayton, New Mexico; and 1 granddaughter.

Dudley was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation was held at Marks Mortuary in Wood River, Illinois on 08 May 1968. Funeral services were conducted there at 10:30 a.m. the following morning.

Pallbearers were Virgil and Franklin Shook, Fred Varney, Charles Driemeyer, Melvin Henry and Edwin Grape.

Dudley's wife, Lillie, passed away in 1974 and was buried next to him.
