David, a resident of Chamisal, was predeceased by his wife Emily Abeyta; father David Abeyta Sr.; step-mother Rosa Abeyta; birth mother Petra Abeyta; uncles: Jose Domingo Abeyta, Edelio Abeyta; grandfather Juan P. Abeyta; aunt Luz Martinez; and cousin Minnie Martinez.
David was survived by his brothers: Johnny Abeyta (wife Roseanna) of Chamisal and Paul Abeyta of Chamisal; sister Irene (husband Leroy Romero) of Chamisal; aunt Mary Herrera of Mora; and numerous other loving relatives & friends.
David was a disabled Veteran of the Korean War. He worked for logging and local farming.
Funeral service was on November 23, 2012 in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial followed in the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers: Paul Abeyta, Juan Abeyta Jr., Alfred Romero, Danny Abeyta, Dominic Martinez, and Leroy Romero.
