Rev. William Stanley Barrows, 70 year-old retired Episcopal minister, died Saturday, Jan. 27, 1940, at his home on White street. He was a native of Rome, N.Y. and was educated at Trinity College, Connecticut and the General Theological Seminary at New York City. He served as headmaster of the Deveaux School, at Niagra Falls from 1897 to 1934 and was a member of the D.K.E. and Phi Beta Kappa fraternities. Rev. Barrows moved to Lexington in 1934.
Funeral services were conducted from the Episcopal church at 3:00 p.m. on Monday by the Rev. Tom Wright, with burial in the Lexington cemetery.
Surviving are his wife; three sons, John, Chester and Stanley Barrows of New York and George Barrows of Lexington, and a sister, Mrs. William Robertson of New York.
