Lenoir, NC- Ramona A. Thompson went home to be with Jesus Christ on November 13th, 2012 after her long battle with cancer. After being diagnosed in April 2003, she was granted an extra nine years by her Lord and Savior so that she could finish the work He had for her and so she could be granted her wish to see all her grandchildren graduate High School.

She has touched the lives of so many people, held positions and offices in church and different organizations. She loved being in the mission field for Jesus and never ceased to let everyone she talked to know how He had blessed her in life.

As she entered Heavens gates, she was reunited with her parents: Howard G. Aldridge and Lucille Beach Haigler and many other family members.

Her surviving family: Jack P. Thompson, husband of 55 years and two months. Her children: Tamara T. Rector, her husband Brad, Jannah T. Coffey, her husband, Ronnie; Samuel P. Thompson, Pamela T. Wilson, her husband, Mike; her four grandchildren: William Coffey, Ashley Rector, Phillip Walker and Chelse Rector; Two step-granddaughters and six step great grandchildren.

The family would like to express heartfelt appreciation to Caldwell County Hospice and all the staff for the excellent and loving care they gave; American Legion for their love and support along with the many friends and family that have called and sent cards.

A celebration of Ramona's life will be held at Central Baptist Church's Family Life Center on Saturday, November 17th at 1:00 PM with Pastor John Jernigan officiating.
