David was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and lived there until 1842. His parents had moved to Cincinnati to care for his grandfather David Wade following a debilitating stroke. It was during these 8 years that David was born and named for his grandfather. After David Wade's death, the family returned to Covington, Kentucky for 3 years and then moved to their new home, Forest Home, in Richwood, Kentucky. Upon David's marriage to Elizabeth Ann Cilley Feb 5,1862, his father gave him Forest Home and 300 acres and moved to Erlanger, KY. There was a fire in the house in 1874. David fell from an overhead beam during the rebuilding, suffered internal injuries and died several days later. He left a young widow and 6 children.
