Dwight M. "Whitey" Adamson, 80, Marion, died at 7:26 am, Thursday, November 15, 2012 at his home. He was born in Marion, Indiana to the late Kenneth and Mary (McKinney) Adamson. He married the love of his life, Ellen Hubbard on May 27, 1973 who survives.
He retired from Dana Corporation after 44 years of service where he worked as a production manager. Later in retirement he joined Kirby Risk for several years. Whitey was a member of Lakeview Wesleyan Church, Marion, and a member of the V.F.W., Post 60. He was a United States Navy veteran. Whitey loved ballroom dancing with Ellen. He adored Ellen and during his last ten years of life, provided daily care to her as she battled and continues to battle Alzheimers. Not only was he a devoted husband, but remained a loving and supportive father and grandparent, even throughout this caretaking.
Funeral Service: at 10:00 am, Monday, November 19, 2012 at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, Indiana with Pastor Brad Terhune officiating. Burial will be in Grant Memorial Park, Marion.
Visitation: will be Sunday, November 18, 2012 from 2-6 PM at the funeral home.
