Frances Marie Daigle, the oldest daughter of Peter Daigle and Mamie Stoskopf, completed elementary education at Sacred Heart School and graduated from Cathedral High School in Seattle. She received a bachelor's degree in music from Marylhurst College, a master's in music from de Paul University, Chicago, a doctor of musical arts from University of Southern California, and engaged in post doctoral studies at George Peabody and American University in the District of Columbia.

She entered the Holy Names novitiate at Marylhurst in 1926 and became Sister M. Anne Cecile.

She started playing violin at age six, and went on to teach music as well as write music including an orchestral suite titled Chronicle of Creation, performed in 1952. She continued to compose and publish music until her death.

She was survived by her brother Raphael Daigle; a sister, Mary Agnes Conaway; seven nieces, ten nephews and the members of her religious community.
