Viva Maye Walworth, daughter of Malinda and Jasper Hain, was born near Buck Grove Feb. 5, 1886, and died at the Crawford County Memorial hospital at Denison Nov. 14, 1953.
At an early age, she united with the Methodist church at Buck Grove and was later transferred to the Dow City Methodist church.
Most of her entire life was spent in Crawford county, with the exception of a few years spent in Lincoln, Neb.
On Dec. 24, 1902, she was married to Bert Walworth. To this union eight children were born: Opal, Mrs. Ralph Crampton, of Westside; Evelyn, Mrs. John McMahon, of Des Moines; Joy, Mrs. Jake Meentz, of Omaha; Thelma, Mrs. Earl Brasel; Verlin Walworth; Lucille, Mrs. Bernard Linderman, all of Dow City; and Burton V. Walworth of Kansas City, Mo.
Other survivors include 16 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; two sisters, Zella, Mrs. Bian Iseminger, of Fort Pierce, Fla., and Bernice, Mrs. Louie Arndt, of Denver; two brothers, Foster Hain of Denison and Dean Hain of Denver, and many other relatives and friends.
Her widower, a daughter, LaRoyce Faye, a brother, Herman Hain, of La Habra, Calif.; a sister, Daisy, Mrs. George Bonesteel, of Eaton, Colo., and brother, Frank Hain, of Denison, preceded her in death.
Services were held in the Dow City Methodist church Monday, Nov. 16, with the Reverend Walter Sleck in charge.
Burial was in the Dow City cemetery. Pallbearers were Robert Crampton, Donald Crampton, Kenneth Sciford,John Wingrove, Paul Wilken and Virgil Freese.

Walworth of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Joseph Bollig of Madison, Wis., Mrs. Margaret Stewart and Mrs. Letha Leigh, both of Leeds, Mary Butler and Bud Linderman, both of Woodburn.
