SCHAEFER, Betty Peacefully passed away with her family by her side on Sunday, November 10, 2013 at K.W. Health Centre of Grand River Hospital. Betty (Bassant) Schaefer in her 86th year of Elmira, was the beloved wife of the late Gerry Schaefer (1994). Loving and devoted mother of Gary and Jocelyn of Elmira, Rick and Doris of Hanover, David and Jeanette, Susan and Earl Gingrich all of Elmira. Fondly remembered by her grand-children and great-grandchildren and her many nieces and nephews. Sister of Mavis and Lyle Chalmers of Leamington. Predeceased by her parents Florence and Thomas Bassant, daughter-in-law Barbara, and two brothers Bert and Cliff Bassant. At Betty's request, cremation has taken place. There will be no funeral home visitation. A memorial service to celebrate Betty's life and faith will be held at Gale Presbyterian Church, 10 Barnswallow Drive, Elmira on Thursday, November 14th at 1 p.m. In Betty's memory, donations to Grand River Regional Cancer Centre or Gale Presbyterian Church would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
