Jual Anthon Woods went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 13, 2012. He passed away at Lubbock, Texas at the age of 93 years, 10 months, and 24 days.
He was born on December 20, 1918, to William Floyd and Texie Euelle (Hayes) Woods, in Frederick, Oklahoma. He married Emma Jean Vernon on June 17, 1947, at Bethel Baptist Church near Frederick, Oklahoma. He was a farmer in Tillman County, Oklahoma and then in Pecos, Texas for many years before his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Emma Jean, one brother: Aldon Woods, and one sister: Cleta Merle Landes.
He is survived by one sister: Claudine Duncan, of Frederick, Oklahoma, and five children: Jeanne Stephenson, of Amarillo, Texas, Joyce and husband Joe Merrell of Lubbock, Texas, Donald of Lubbock, Texas, Vickie Fergerson, of Berschweiler, Germany, and David and wife Toya, of Fort Stockton, Texas. He was honored to be Grandpa to 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
