Last Rites Held for New Lisbon Resident

Funeral for Mrs. Julia Hickling Largely Attended
At Late Home at New Lisbon

New Lisbon, Nov. 23---Funeral services for Mrs. Julia (Gregory) Hickling, who died at the Parshall hospital, Oneonota, following an operation, were held at her late home at New Lisbon Wednesday afternoon at 1 o'clock with a large attendance of relatives, neighbors, and friends.
The services were conducted by Rev. H. E. Danielson, pastor of the Baptist church at Morris. Two duets, "Under His Wing" and "He Hideth My Soul." were sung by Rev. Mr. and Mrs. Danielson. A number of floral tributes were sent by relatives and friends.
The bearers were Fred Gregory, Smith Gregory, William Hickling, Howard Colburn, Chauncey Yager and Lewis Thrope.
Interment was in the Butternut Valley cemetery.
Mrs. Hickling was born at New Lisbon, June 29, 1871, the only daughter of Henry and Imogene (Babcock) Gregory. February 25, 1895, she married Charles Hickling of New Lisbon who died January 19, 1934. A short time previous to her death she went to Laurens to spend the winter with her cousin, Miss Abbie Gregory.
She was a member of the Baptist church at New Lisbon Center and a woman with deep consideration for others. The sympathy of a wide circle of friends will be extended to the relatives.
Surviving are two brothers, Fred Gregory and Smith Gregory of New Lisbon; a step-son, William Hickling, who resides near the parental home; one aunt, Mrs. Chester Harrington of Lena; one step-granddaughter. Miss Claudine Hickling, two nephews and several cousins.
Among those attending the services from out of town were William Hickling and daughter, Leone May, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hickling of Homesville; Clayton Gregory, Utica; Mr. and Mrs. B. Felps, Morris; Mr. and Mrs. Leon Gregory, Miss Abbie Gregory and Mrs. Eliza Hopkins, Laurens, and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Colburn of Burlington.
