---Billy Houston Benson of Potosi, Missouri departed this life Sunday, November 14, 2004 having reached the age of sixty-eight years, eight months and fifteen days. He was born at Potosi to the late Lloyd and Goldie Mildred (Lamar) Benson.
Before retirement, Billy was a foreman for the City of Shrewsbury Street Department. He was as dear brother, father, uncle, cousin, friend and will be sadly missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Edward, Melvin, Connie and Verlin Benson.
Among those who remain to mourn his passing from this life are a daughter, Janet Popken and husband Alan of Mountain View, Missouri; his two grandson, Kevin and Scott; his sisters, Virginia Boyer and husband Glen of Potosi, and Rose Tyler and husband Walter of Potosi; his brothers, Gene Benson and wife Rose of Kirkwood; Olin Benson of Warrenton; Ervin Benson and wife Clara of Cedar Hill; Lonnie Benson and wife Shelba of Kirkwood; Charles Benson and wife Sandy of Valley Park; Ronald Benson and wife Tracy of Farmington; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and many dear friends who will also sadly miss him.
Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 18, 2004 at Britton Chapel, Potosi, with Rev. Leonard Compton officiating. Serving as pallbearers were: Ray Gibson, Lonnie Benson, II, Woody Boyer, Tom Boyer, James Boyer and Brian Benson. Interment and final prayers were held at Sunset Hill Cemeter, Potosi.
All arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
