Elsie Gertrude Bachman, 96, of Marietta was called home on October 3, 2010.
She was born on January 7, 1914 in Rinard Mills, OH, a daughter of the late Jacob and Eulala English Salisbury. She graduated from Ludlow Rural High School in Bloomfield, Oh in 1933. After graduation, she moved to Marietta where she worked at H.M. Schmelzenbach's Market, Montgomery Ward and as a cook at North Hills Elementary School.
She married Joseph E. Bachman on November 14, 1945. Elsie was a member of the Marietta Bible Center Church and loved to hear the choir sing. She also enjoyed cooking, playing games, writing letters, poems and sending cards. Elsie loved visiting with friends and family, traveling to the family's cabin in West Virginia and reminiscing about the good old "simple" days of her youth. Elsie cherished her faith and family above all else.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joe and her brothers Victor and Jack Salisbury.
Friends and family will be received from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 on Wednesday and from 12:30 until time of services at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday (Oct. 7) at the McClure- Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home. Pastor Myron Guiler will be officiating the service. Interment will follow in the East Lawn Memorial Park.
