In 1932-1933 years of his postgraduate studies at the Institute of Painting, Sculpture, Architecture in Leningrad Isaak Brodsky. In the next 10 years, he taught at the Leningrad Academy of Arts. During World War II, was the chairman of the Leningrad branch of the Union of Soviet Artists, worked in the besieged city, participated in the association "Fighting Pencil". He also owns a home illustrations for classics poem N.A. Nekrasov "Who Lives Well" novel LN Tolstoy's "War and Peace" and the works of A. Pushkin, Gorky and others. He also created a series of graphics to the "Lay." He is the author of a number of political posters. In a creative and social activities are pronounced representative of the official state ideology, the apologist of socialist realism in its most dogmatic sense.
