Donald F. Koehnemann, 79, of Westchester, died March 8 in DuPage Convalescence Center of complications following a stroke.
Mr. Koehnemann was born Oct. 15, 1927 in South Bend, IN. He was an Air Force veteran in the post-war 40's. After receiving a Master's Degree from Ball State University, he worked as a Speech Pathologist for Cook Co. School District 89 until his retirement. His interests included Big Band music, old time radio and old movies. He was a devoted husband and father, and enjoyed vacationing with his family each year in Door County, WI.
He was preceded in death by his wife Joan of 51 years; and is survived by two daughters, Diane (Rich) Bay and Denise; and three grandsons, Matt (Becca) Bay, Mike Bay and Ricky Bay.
A visitation will be held on Friday March 16 at 10 a.m., with memorial service following at 11 a.m., at Grace Lutheran Church, 1101 Manchester, Westchester. Flowers may be sent to the church, or memorial donations to Aspire, 9901 Derby Ln., Westchester, IL 60154.
