"Biography:
A record of Jemima Hallett's birth date has not been located, but she was married in 1780. Her father's first marriage to Jemima Betts was in 1751, and his second marriage to Elizabeth Lamb was in 1761, nineteen years prior to Jemima's marriage. Perhaps Jemima Betts died when her daughter was born and the daughter was named Jemima after her mother, but this is speculation. However, if Jemima Hallett was a daughter of Samuel's second marriage in 1761, one would suppose that she was not born earlier than 1762, which would suggest that she was married at about 18 years of age. That would not have been uncommon at that time.

Jemima and her husband, David Moore, did not come to New Brunswick with the Loyalists. They remained in New York."
