Darrell B. Hincks died unexpectedly at age 79, on November 27, 2007 of heart failure at the Ogden Regional Medical Center. He was born on September 9, 1928 in Lewiston, Utah to Ben and Amanda Hincks.
He married his best friend and sweetheart Barbara Kay Norseth on October 22, 1949. They were devoted to each other. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple March 24, 1953. They were blessed with two sons David B. (Jayne), and Richard K. (Patty), and three daughters, Karen (Greg) Mead, Kathy (Bruce) Coleman, and Lisa (Jared) Stofferahn.
He retired from his employment at Holy Cross Hospital and Leavitt's Mortuary. He served faithfully in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints. He served in many callings, including Bishop, Stake President, Regional Welfare Agent, and an ordinance worker at the Ogden Temple.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He also loved watching BYU football.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two grandsons.
He is survived by his wife, five children, and their spouses, twenty-two grandchildren, and fifteen great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the compassionate care of the staff at the Ogden Regional Medical Center and the emergency response team.
