Viola M. Muenzhuber, 68, rural Osakis, died Mar. 26, 2007 at Long Prairie Hospital. Viola was born Jan. 27, 1939 in Adams to William and Barbara Schaefer Winkels. She married Ronald K. Muenzhuber on Apr. 16, 1966 at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Minneapolis. They lived in Minneapolis where she worked as an accountant for Mt. Sinai Hospital in Minneapolis. They retired and moved to Long Prairie in 1992. She loved to knit, crochet, do crossword puzzles and read books.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald of Osakis; son, Ronald Muenzhuber II of Minneapolis; granddaughters, Kimberly, Kelsey and Amanda; sisters, Ardella Krysan of Cresco IA; Philomena VonLohman of Glendale CA, Sr. Marcella Winkels of Kenosha WI; Sr. Marcell Winkels of Oshkosh WI; Anita Gadient of Goodhue; brother, Roman of Adams; Herman of Fargo ND; Kenneth of LeRoy; William of Adams, and George of Adams. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Marie Ehlers, Theresa Winkels; and brothers, Victor, Benjamin and Jerome.
Mass of Christian Burial was held March 31 at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Long Prairie. The Rev. Scott Wittkop officiated and burial was at the parish cemetery. Casket bearers were Fred Peterson, Shelly Peterson, Al Young, Roger Bengtson, Greg Odash and Karen Odash. Arrangements were with Stein-Dingmann Funeral Home in Long Prairie.
