Professional Hockey Player. A native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, he was known as "Billy The Kid". He played the position of Center for for the Toronto Maple Leafs from 1939 to 1943 and from 1945 to 1946, the Detroit Red Wings from 1946 to 1947, the Boston Bruins from 1947 to 1948, and the New York Rangers from 1947 to 1948. He helped the Maple Leafs to win the Stanley Cup in 1942. His son Billy Taylor Jr, also played hockey. Billy Taylor passed away in Whitby, Ontario, in June 1990, at the age of 71.
