She was a homemaker and had previously worked at Commercial State Bank, Video Vision and Hillside Grocery. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #535 and the First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughters Linda Bloom Stanley and Kenneth W. Korenek of El Campo and Ruth Bloom Doss and husband Wendall of Georgetown; grandchildren Samantha Durham and husband Dustin, Sommer Stanley, Sawyer Stanley, Jessica Doss and Jacquelyn Doss; great-grandchildren Kaitlyn and Wyatt Durham; and brothers Odis Newton and wife Lorraine, Forrest Newton and wife Norma, and Wade Newton and wife Caroline, all of El Campo. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 60 years Charles "Buddy" Bloom, Jr., and step-brother Ellis Newton.
Visitation will begin 1 pm Saturday at Triska Funeral home with the family receiving visitors from 4 pm to 6 pm. Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Sunday, November 11, 2012 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Suzanne Isaacs officiating. Interment will follow at Swedish Lutheran Cemetery.
Memorial donations in memory of Ida Mae Bloom may be made to the First United Methodist Church.
