Miss Barbara Jane Price, age 83, died at her home on Thursday, January 8, 2004. She was born August 13, 1920 to Harry Price and Laurette (Wade) Price in Columbia, Ms.

A native of Columbia, Ms and a resident of Metairie for 45 years she was a retired Social Worker for the State of Louisiana. She was a member of several carnival organizations and served as royalty in Amon-Ra and Ishtar.

Survivors include her longtime domestic partner; Mary 'Hoppy' Hopkins of Metairie, LA. brothers; Harry A. Price, Jr of Pascagoula,MS. and Frank W. Price, Sr and his wife Blanche of Bogalusa, LA., sister-in-law; Earline Price of Bogalusa, LA. and God-daughter; Suzanne Gekker, of Bethesda, MD.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother; Charles O. Price, nephew; Wade Price, Jr and sister-in-law; Doris (Manning) Price.

There will be no funeral service, although a memorial service is planned for early March. Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
