CASON, AHMED AKIL, age 24, of McCalla, AL, died serving his country in Baghdad, Iraq on April 4, 2004. Ahmed, known as "Mayo" to his friends and family, was a strong-willed and determined husband. He will be remembered for always going the extra mile for others and his willingness to put aside his needs to help if possible. I am at peace knowing he is in heaven, free from struggles he faced in this life. The visitation will be at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home on Hwy 150 in Hoover on Sunday, April 11, from 5 to 7 P.M. for family and friends, with services to be held on Monday, April 12, at 11:00 A.M. Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home directing. Interment, with full military honors, will follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South, in Hoover.
