OBIT Transcription:
Salt Creek Notes.
Special Correspondence Zanesville Courier.
Died at his home in Salt Creek township, Tuesday, February 3, Joseph Reasoner, aged 83 years. He has for about thirty-five years been a resident of this township. About twenty years ago he and his wife were on their way to Zanesville when his wife was stricken with death. It was often his boast to the writer of this, that he was a descendant of the Hugenots, and though that name is of questionable character as a derivative, yet he believed it to be descriptive of and applicable to the French Protestants whom he claimed suffered most severely from persecutions, after the revocation of the edicts of Nantes. He leaves two daughters and one son. One son, John R Reasoner, a Presbyterian Minister, died some years ago.
