Effie Jewel Bruce, 76 of Walnut Ridge passed from this life Wednesday. She was born August 15, 1936 in Light to Sam and Hazel Huffman Liles. She had lived most of her life in Lawrence County, was a homemaker and a member of the Shekinah Tabernacle in Worth.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arlie Choat and brothers, Jay Liles, Harley Liles and Jonathan David Liles.
She is survived by husband, George Bruce of Walnut Ridge; daughters, Vanessa Morse and husband David of Powhatan, Ann Morse and husband Tom of Jonesboro, and Laura Elaine Alderson and husband Robbie of Bono; sons, Glenn Choat and wife Dawn of Ozark Acres and Rev. Tim Choat and wife Joanna of Bella Vista; step-children, Darrell Bruce of Washington and Sharon Hurst of Horseshoe Bend; brothers, Hubert Liles of Annieville, Sam Liles of Hoxie and Ernie Liles and wife Mary of Walnut Ridge; sisters, Lena McElyea of Walnut Ridge and Alma Duncan of Hoxie; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at House Gregg Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge. Burial will follow at Stranger's Home Cemetery near Alicia.
Visitation is Thursday 5 – 8 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
