Obituary from the Moulton Eagle
Paul Ammermann of Yoakum passed away Sunday, January 14, at 2:00 p.m. The remains lay in state at the Buffington Chapel in Yoakum until Monday afternoon when they were conveyed to the Smith Funeral Home in Moulton. Services were conducted by Rev. Bechter of the Yoakum Lutheran Church Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock followed by interment in the Moulton City Cemetery. Six nephews served as casket attendants: Alton Fojtik, Harry Kaiser, Jim Zapalac, Edgar Zimmermann, Henry Zimmermann and Lester Koenig. Mr. Ammermann was born at Moulton April 8, 1897 and attained the age of 53 years, 9 months and 6 days. He grew to manhood here and was united in marriage with Miss Mary Meyer, removing to Yoakum about six years ago. Survivors include the widow; three daughters, Mrs. Irene Gerth of San Antonio, Mrs. Gladys Leinweber of Panama Canal Zone and Mrs. Dorothy McBroom of Yoakum; one son, Paul Ammermann Jr of Yoakum; one grandchild; and one sister, Mrs. Louis Hohman of Moulton.
