Alfred E. Marvin 75, of Route 2, died at 10:45 a.m. Sunday at Keokuk Area Hospital East after a two-month illness.
He was born Aug. 2, 1902 in Dallas City, Ill., the son of the late Alfred E. and Mary Davis Martin. He came to Keokuk in 1928 from Joplin, MO.
He married Virginia Morris on Dec. 28, 1935, in Kahoka, Mo. She survives.
Mr. Marvin was an electrician by trade and a long-time commercial fisherman in the area. He also operated the Six to Six Café for the past three years. He was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include two brothers, Ray of San Leandro, Calif., and Carl of Keokuk; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Neal (Anna Belle) Craig of Keokuk, Mrs. Fred (Gwendolyn) Howard of Keokuk, and Mrs. Betty Marvin of Ft. Madison; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Schmidt Memorial home. The Rev. J. Robert Burkhart will officiate. Interment will be in Montrose Cemetery.
The family will meet friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Schmidt Memorial Home.
