Lucy's mother died two weeks after she gave birth to Lucy and her twin sister, Missouri Ann. Lucy and Missouri were raised by Eliza's sister, Mary, whom their father, Jasper, married when the girls were 11 months old.

Lucy married twice: Ernest Bond Hamner in 1904 and Henry Tony Phelps in 1926. Lucy and Ernest had five children: Mary, Dempsey, John, Helen, and Temple.

Lucy's twin, Missouri (Finnell) Young, died in October 1945.

MRS. H. T. PHELPS DIES IN SALISBURY; FUNERAL THURSDAY
SALISBURY ---Mrs. H. T. Phelps, 63, died at her home here today of cerebral hemorrhage. She had been critically ill for the last few days.

Mrs. Phelps was a native of Asbury community. Her maiden name was Finnell. After the death of her first husband, Ernest Hamner, she was married to H. T. Phelps in 1929.

Surviving are her husband and four children. Mrs. Ed Wolter, Chillicothe; Mrs. Leroy Arnsperger, Salisbury; Dempsey Hamner, Keytesville; and Temple Hamner, Wellington, Kas.

Funeral services will be held Thurday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Baptist Church. Burial will be in the city cemetery.
