Loretta Sowers, 78, of Warsaw, Ill. died at 3:10 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at Keokuk Area Hospital.
Born Sept. 12, 1928, in Pekin, Ill., she was the daughter of William Parkin and Clara Stevens, and the stepdaughter of Wiley Morris. On Oct. 31, 1948, she married Marion Sowers in Warsaw.
Mrs. Sowers was a homemaker. She attended school in Hancock County, Ill., and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Warsaw. She enjoyed playing bingo, cards, fishing, and collecting miniature mice figurines.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Mark Sowers of Warsaw, Dave Sowers of Riverton, Ill., and Rick Sowers of Reno, Nev.; five grandchildren; six great–grandchildren; one sister, Phyllis Kill of Poway, Calif.; and one brother, Curtis "Bud" Parkin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather and one brother.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Lamporte Funeral Home in Warsaw, where the family will receive friends.
The graveside funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Oakland Cemetery in Warsaw, with Tom Kraushaar officiating.
A memorial has been established.
