Body Of Missing Area Man Found:
A search for 86 year old Robert Lee Ardry of Floydada ended Tuesday when a cowboy discovered his body in Guthrie. Ardry definitely identified by papers in his billfold, crooked fingers on his left hand and his watch was probably not the victim of foul play Floyd County Sheriff Leland Hart and Texas Rangers W E Razz Renfrew and Capt Raymond Waters said. The three officers went to Guthrie Tuesday to identify the body. Disappeared In June, Ardry was found two and one half miles east of Guthrie and yards south of Highway 82 in a pasture. The badly decomposed body was taken to a funeral home in Paducah for a close examination to discover if Ardry had suffered foul play and then to Harmon Funeral Home in Floydada where services are pending. Ardry who disappeared from a boarding home in Floydada June 12 had been the object of a state wide search. Texas Rangers joined the search on July 1 and the Floyd County Sheriff's Posse scoured Blanco Canyon on July 14 but were driven out by rain. Fearing foul play two Lubbock taxi cab drivers were given lie detector tests in Austin by authorities. The tests showed negative. A suitcase which Ardry had when he left home was found June 22 in Memphis Tex.
