Mattie Jackson Pruett
BOSSIER CITY, LA - Mattie Jackson Pruett, 67, died on Friday, November 28, 1997. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bossier and the Joy Sunday School Class. She graduated from Northwestern State University of Louisiana and began her teaching and counseling career which spanned 30 years before retiring. Her memberships and activities include: Member and past President of Alpha Delta Kappa and Kappa Kappa Iota; a membership with the Louisiana State Vocational Home, Economics Assoc; member of the Bossier Parish Home Economics Teachers Assoc; member of the Louisiana Retired Teachers Assoc.; member of the Bossier Parish Retired Teachers Assoc; and a member of the National Education Assoc. She was the faculty adviser for the Future Homemakers of America and instructor for the Bossier Parish Community College Community Education Division.
Mattie was preceded in death by her mother: Eva Mae Jackson Drewett; brother, Kenneth Gerald Drewett; and grandparents: Thomas Andrew and Sally Jackson. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband of 46 years, Gerald Q. Pruett; son: Stephen B. Pruett and wife Jacqueline K. brother: Thomas Hulon Drewett and wife Wanda; sisters-in-law: Nita Drewett, Maxine Drewett and Margie Pruett Wllliford; brother-in-law: Johnie Pruett and wife Barbara; grandchildren: Scott and Stephanie; five nieces, one nephew and one great nephew. Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Hill Crest Funeral Home. Hwy. 80 East, Haughton, LA, on Monday, December 1, 1997 at 2 p.m. with Reverends Dr. Fred Lowery and Dr. Randy Harper officiating. Burial will be in the Hill Crest Cemetery.
