Birth: 1778
Death: Mar. 11, 1844
Sugar Creek
Armstrong County
Pennsylvania, USA

Sarah Wolff Lasher daughter of David Wolff & Polly Henry,She was the wife of Benjamin Leasure. Inscription says "In the 66 year of her age." Benjamin's original stone in 1847 said Lasher, however a replacement Government stone says Leasure. (This being the name which he served under during the Revolutionary War) The reason for the name change is uncertain, but It is suspected they wanted to feel more of Germanic descent, especially with all the Bausser, Bowser, Frick living around them. Sarah and Benjamin were married about 1804 and they had 6 children (a) George Daniel and Sarah (Croyle) Lasher of Sugar Creek Twp. Armstrong Co., Pa (b) Abraham and Martha J "Margaret" (Gould) Lasher of Sugar Creek Twp. Armstrong Co., Pa (c) Matilda (Lasher) and Mr. Best (d) Catherine (Lasher) and Hugh Frazier Hooks of East Franklin Twp. Armstrong Co., Pa. (e) Charlotte (Lasher) and Allen Hooks of Adel, Dallas Co., Ia. (f) Hannah W (Leasure) alias Hannah W Mullens. Note: Although every census after 1800 lists his and her decedents as Leasure, Sarah and all their children are buried under the Lasher name.
