Growing up I never had much interest in history. I couldn't see any point in studying what happened in the past - after all you can't change the past. However, as I have gotten older, I realize how important the past is. I have developed a deep appreciation for my ancestors and all those that have gone before. I have become fascinated with researching their stories and learning about the kind of people they were. I appreciate all the sacrifices they went through and the hardships they endured. Those are the things that helped shape me into what I am.
