*THE PARIS NEWS, Tuesday, February 29, 2000, page 8A: 'Evelyn R. Ables, 83, of Paris died at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, 2000, at McCuistion Regional Medical Center. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 1, in Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Fortenberry and Dr. Tim Parker officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. She was born Feb. 3, 1917, in the Howland community to T. V. and Myrtle May McFadden Roberts. She was a graduate of Howland schools and a lifetime member of Howland Baptist Church. A former employee of McCuistion Regional Medical Center, she was a longtime member of the McCuistion Auxiliary and Order of the Eastern Star. She married Aaron Arvil Ables Feb. 8, 1941, in Oklahoma. He died Oct. 22, 1968. Surviving are two sons, Thomas A. Ables and wife Regina, Dr. Bob D. Ables and wife Sandra, all of Paris, a daughter, Joan Ables Hickman and husband Donald of Salisbury, Mo.; six grandchildren, Maryann Hickman Rustemeyer and husband Mike, Brenda Hickman Nicolay and husband Mike of Salisbury, Mo., Bret Aaron Ables of Paris, Millicent Elaine Ables of Kansas City. Kan., Morgan Ables and Alexandria Ables, both of Paris; five great -grandchildren, Jordan Rustemeyer, McKay Rustemeyer, Cassandra Nicolay, Hannah Nicolay, and Zachary Aaron Ables; a brother, T. V. Roberts and wife Bobbye of Paris, and nephews Thomas Perry and wife Annie of Sulphur Springs; David Roberts and wife Janet of Sugarland, Doug Roberts and wife Cindy of Dallas; a sister-in-law, Sally Roberts and her daughters Susan and Sarah; a special granddaughter-in-law, Trava Ables of Paris; and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Roberts, in 1988, and a sister, Annys Perry, in 1994.' *Grave location has not been verified and is assumed to be next to spouse.
