Flowers left for Malinda Thompson
Death Resulted From Injuries
Mrs Malinda G Thompson, widow of Perry M Thomson, who died several months ago, passed away yesterday afternoon at 3 o’clock at the family residence, six and a half miles southeast of the city. While her health had been impaired for months, her death was hastened by two accidents that happened within the last two weeks. One week ago last Saturday night, while the severe wind storm was raging a heavy gate was wrenched from its hinges and fell against Mrs Thompson, knocking her down. On last Wednesday evening she was knocked down and trampled by a cow. No bones were broken, but the shock caused by these accidents hastened her death. Mrs Thompson was 89 years old and is survived by six children, three sons and three daughters. She was a member of the Presbyterian church and was a woman of noble character. She had a wide acquaintance and was loved for her womanly qualities. Her death will cause much regret. The funeral will be conducted from Spring Grove church tomorrow morning at 10 o’clock. Rev Mr Hook, of Romney will officiate and the interment will be made in Spring Grove Cemetery. ( Lafayette Morning Journal, Saturday, December 2, 1911)
