Flowers left for Jack Kerouac
Jack, A college chum of mine, a Buddhist and into Zen (I came across him standing in the rain on the Quad one day and asked what he was doing. "Don't bug me man, I'm a tree." He really got a kick out of your novel, "On the Road" and read passages to us as if they were scripture. He became an artist, and a world traveler and almost went blind in South America. But he had adventures. I remember him wandering around the dorm telling anyone who would listen that he had discovered a genius. You. I never read your book, because I had most of it read to me. This was in the decade just after it was published. A truly interesting time. RIP
