Flowers left for William Sperb
Everyone appreciates the service you gave to your Country, but I was wondering, unlike the last time I was here, about all of the men who lived because of you. You flew 802 successful missions with more than one man on each mission; so how many men made it to the hospital & out of those, how many lived who would have otherwise died? How many men went home, not in a box, but on a seat in a plane to their wives or girls and parents to be discharged & go back to college or work and raise families, all because you got them out alive? I know you are in Heaven with the ones who didn't make it, but none of you are wounded any longer. All are healed with fresh, new bodies and no pain, walking the fields of gold, listening to the Angels singing, and talking with our Lord. You earned it, you know. Thank you for rescuing all of those men, whether they made it or not. Because I am sure even if they didn't live, their parents were grateful that their son's remains came home. And I am sure that all of those men who did live were grateful to be coming home alive. So Rest In Peace in God's most glorious Paradise forever. You earned it.
