Inst. of Electrical Engineers., Society of Automobile Engineers, and many technical and scientific clubs. Republican. Unitarian. Graduated from the School of Mechanic Arts of Mass. Inst. Tech., 1886 (youngest student in the class). Engaged as elect. engineer by three companies during 1884-1890; Supt of Am. Projecting Co., Lynn, Mass., 1890-95; chief engineer of Electric Vehicle Co., Hartford, Conn. 1895-1907. Married Dec. 21, 1898, to Miss Josephine, daughter of Ex-Gov. Hamilton of Md.
