Flowers left for James Buck
Obituary: The funeral of James Buck was held from the First presbyterian church yesterday afternoon at 3 o’clock, Rev A C V Skinner officiating. Miss Nan Callahan and Miss Clara Roseberry sang and Earl Wells presided at the organ. Among the floral offerings was a beautiful collection of American Beauty Roses from the Chicago board of trade. Tributes were also sent by George Watkins and George W Brown of Chicago. The remains were interred in Springvale cemetery beside those of his sister, Mrs Telitha Youel, who died on October 30, 1908. The honorary pallbearers were W W Smith, B W Langdon, Dr Washburn, Thomas Murdock, Laban Sparks and George Watkins, of Chicago. The active pallbearers were W C Mitchell, Joseph S MaCrae, William W Johnson. C H Powell, George P Haywood and E T Anderson. (Lafayette, Indiana Daily Courier, Monday January11, 1909)
