In the early 1960's, Evelyn was cook, owner, and operator of Eve's Diner in Courtland , Kansas . For thirty-five years, she cooked at Banner Restaurant in Beloit , Kansas , retiring in the early 1980's. She was a member of North Baptist Church in Ottawa . On February 9, 1947, Evelyn was united in marriage with William Arnold in Courtland , Kansas . He preceded her in death August 24, 1996.
