Candi Fuller Johnson, age 32, of the Horseshoe Community, died on Monday, July 23, 2007, on Old Hwy 49 in Holmes County of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born on February 05, 1975 to Larry Fuller and Cathy Casiday Gibson in Greenwood, Miss.
Candi graduated from Carroll Academy with honors and attended Mississippi Delta Community College where she was a Delta Dancer and obtained an associated degree in Administrative Support. after graduating Candi had a short career in Optometry. Candi married Tim Johnson on May 20, 1995 in Greenwood, Miss. She then became a stay at home mom, home schooling her children until recently when she again returned to the ophthalmology field working for Dr Megan Sumrall in Lexington, Miss. Candi's passion was pageantry. She was a participant in many pageants and had also judged and coached many contestants. Candi was most proud of her title she won in the 2001 MRS. Mississippi Pageant which qualified her for the MRS. United States Pageant in Las Vegas where she was a top 15 finalist. She was a member of Horseshoe Baptist Church. Candi had recently gone on a mission trip to Mexico where she developed a love for the orphan children.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 26, 2007 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Wilson & Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood. Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 27, 2007 at 2:00 PM at Wilson & Knight Chapel in Greenwood, Miss. Burial will be at the Pinecrest Cemetery near Tchula, Miss. The Rev. Perry Irvin and Rev. Kerry Burrough will officiate the services.
She is survived by her husband Tim Johnson of Horseshoe, Miss.; son, Ty Johnson of Horseshoe, Miss.; son, Luke Johnson of Horseshoe, Miss.; father, Larry Fuller of Sidon, Miss.; mother, Cathy C. and step-father, Joe Gibson of McCarley, Miss.; sister, Cyndi and her husband, David Wallace of Greenville, Miss.; sister, Kelly and her husband, Derek Dodd of Greenwood, Miss.; maternal great grandparents, Mary Casiday of McCarley, Miss.; paternal grandparents, Giles and Frances Fuller of Greenwood, Miss.; mother and father-in-law, Danny and Linda Johnson of Horseshoe, Miss.; sister-in-law, Jana and her husband, Larry Hardy of D'Iberville, MS. sister,-in - law Traci and her husband, Robert Hutton of Tchula, MS. sister-in-law Emily and her husband, Gerry Carter of Horseshoe, MS; five nieces and five nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Buddy Casiday.
