Jonathan was above all a devout follower of Christ and was also an incredibly dedicated and loving husband, father, son, brother and friend.
He proudly served and protected the citizens of Oklahoma City as a police officer for over ten years and wouldn't have been happier doing anything else.
Jonathan was preceded in death by his grandparents, E.H. and Modena Dragus and Lowell and Peggy Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Kelly, who is also an Oklahoma City Police Officer; his daughter, Ashlyn, 8 and son, Kaden, 5 months; mother, Marsha Dragus; father and stepmother, Paul and Phyllis Dragus; his brother, Brian Dragus and fiance; sister, Michelle Rogers and her family; a stepsister, Karen Sadieth and her family; stepbrother, Mike Finucane and his wife; mothers and fathers-in-law, Walt and Anne Brown and Ron and Marian Keef; brothers-in-law, Kevin Keef and Danny Keef and a sister-in-law, Cris Kennedye and her family. Jonathan is also survived by his OCPD family.
He was loved so much by so many. Jonathan was ready and now walks peacefully with Jesus, but he will be missed more than words can express.

Cause of Death: Vehicle pursuit
Oklahoma City police officer Sergeant Jonathan Dragus died of injuries he suffered after crashing his patrol car while chasing a stolen motorcyclist in northwest Oklahoma City Sergeant Jonathan Dragus died about 11:15 a.m. Thursday morning at the OU Medical Center. The chase began just before 3:00 a.m. when Dragus tried to stop a motorcycle driven by Kyle Grider with Chelsea Free riding as a passenger. Grider drove away, then stopped to drop off Free and sped away again.
Dragus was following the motorcycle when a pickup truck pulled into traffic and Dragus swerved hit a street sign, a pole and a tree. The truck driver left the scene but has since been found and is cooperating with police. Free is also in custody. Grider crashed the motorcycle about a mile from the scene of Dragus' collision and ran away on foot. He remained at large for the night but on 10-21-05 Grider turned himself in and is waiting charges including second-degree murder and eluding police.
The 32-year-old Dragus was a 10-year veteran of the Oklahoma City Police Department and is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.
