Died at age 69 from a brain hemorage stroke in Roseville, Ca. Known as "Bernie" to his close friends; Husband for 34 yrs. of Dawn Patricia Burke Bruttig of Los Angeles, Ca; father of Christopher,Burke and Dana Bruttig of Atherton,Ca. Irish Roman Catholic/educated at Loyola HS and Loyola University in L.A. Capt.US Army medical Corp WWII Pacific theater fighting the Japanese empire. 5th son of 6 sons of Peter and Margaret "Nano" Bruttig of Victoria Park Drive in Los Angeles, California. Partnered owner with his younger brother Richard "Dick" Bruttig of Microseal Corp. L.A./ Torrance, Ca. Was later the "President Emeritus" of Microseal associated with "Great Lakes Chemical Corp." of the Michigan area. Petroleum engineer and businessman.

Owner and founder of "Franciscan Vineyards Winery of Napa, Ca. in 1973. A very nice man, husband and father who loved his "manhattan cocktails" in the evening when he got home from his business! He loved people,cooking,waffles, pheasant hunting with his kids,his brothers and his family,Lake Tahoe,Hermosa beach in LA, fun times, BBQ's and a little glass of "wine" with good food. Lived in Atherton, Ca. and attended Nativity Catholic Church in Menlo Park, Ca. where he loved being an usher to meet and greet his local friends including his favorite buddy "Bud". "Bernie" had many friends and loved to entertain any of them at his house. Bernie is grandfather to 7 grandchildren who never knew nor enjoyed him due to his early death. "Bernie" was buried at his family plot beside his parents and brothers at New Calvary in Los Angeles, Ca. nearby with his spouse Dawn, who died in 2004. She is buried with her parents.
