Christopher Todd signed the General Agreement with his mark and was given a homelot in the Yorkshire Quarters, and assigned "the third seat on the side" while his wife was assigned one of the middle seats.
Being a farmer, miller & baker, he bought from the town before 1686, the first grist mill in New Haven located at the falls near Mill Rock and eventuallly owned by Eli Whitney who built his fire arms factory on this spot.
In 1650 he purchased one & one half acres from Jasper Crane in the London Quarter with a building on Elm Street between Church & Orange streets where he lived for the rest of his life. This lot stayed in the possession of his descendants for nearly 100 years. It was later known as the "Blue Meeting house Lot" where the paritiioners who broke off from the First Church in New Haven (the "New Lights") erected their church.
Over his life, he aquired considerable land. When he died at 69 years of age, he left a will naming three sons and three daughters.
