A career Military Police Officer, George was a Special Agent with the US Army Criminal Investigation Command, achieving the rank of Chief Warrant Officer (CWO2). During his military career he was awarded the Good Conduct, National Defense, and Vietnam Service Medals.
He received a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Park College, St Louis, MO.
He married Miss Kathleen Francis Logan and the couple were blessed with three children, George Darby, Teri (Darby) Jeevenjee and Kenneth Darby.
Subsequently, he married Carole M Darby who preceeded him in death.
At the time of his death he was survived by his three children and five grandchildren.
