CHESAPEAKE - Samuel Earl Bailey, 59, of the 2400 block of Locks Landing, Chesapeake, was called to rest on April 3, 2008 at Chesapeake Regional Hospital. He was born in Wilson, North Carolina to Christine Bailey and Samuel Johnson who preceded him in death.

He was a graduate of Charles H. Darden High School, Wilson, NC and Tidewater Community College where he received his Associates degree in Science.

He retired from the Naval Supply Center, Norfolk after 30 years of service.

He was a member of Tabernacle Christian Church where he was Treasurer of the Men's Fellowship Singles Ministry and the Fellowship Choir. He was President of the Tidewater Chapter, Alumni Rel.

To cherish his memories are one daughter, Evelyne Brock of Wilson, NC; one son, Jermaine Perry of Virginia Beach; three sisters, Dora A. Williams (husband Charles), Arlene McMillian, Paulette (Bobby Jones), all of Wilson; four brothers, Jimmy Bailey wife Doris, John Cannady (wife Jessie) of Wilson, Vincent Richardson of Elm City, NC, and Jackie Edmundson (wife Betty) of Jacksonville, FL; four grandchildren, Aaron Stevens, Chantel Donaldson, Dominique Allen, and Jaquan Perry; devoted niece, Lindella Jones of Norfolk; 13 nephews, 19 nieces; several great nieces and nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services held at 12 noon Friday, April 11, 2008 at Tabernacle Christian Church, officiated by The Rev. Dr. Carlton Upton, Sr. Interment Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. The family received friends Thursday, April 10, 2008, from 7pm - 8pm at Crocker Funeral Home. Crocker Funeral Home handled arrangements.
